A 18-pared coaching hunt called, at ***** and built specially for the Oxford University Boat Club was launched to-day (Tuesday) at the Iffley boathouse of Mr. George ***** the Oxford boat-builder, and rowed to the Boat Club. It was manned by old Oxford rowing Blues. The leviathan is the first of ***** to be used in this country, though several are in use in America. In addition to the places for 16 barsmen, there is room for a cox and a coach, who can move up and down the noat by means of a gangway which ***** the middle of the *****. November 13, 1951. Breeches Buoy Rescue Near Hastings Pier (Sussex).Yesterday's breeches buoy rescue of the crew of the motor-cruiser Shanzu near Hastings, Sussex, England, Pier.Her engines useless and her anchor cable broken, the motor-cruiser Shanzu with three London men and a boy aboard, was dragged up onto the beach by local men - only to be swung loose again which brought her in danger of colliding with rocks near the west pier.Eventually the Hastings life saving rocket crew managed to get two lines abroad, and our picture shows the second of the men aboard being taken off.
