This scene is from a scroll found in the tomb of an ancient Egyptian named Ani (pictured far left), an official at court during the 19th Dynasty - New Kingdom). The scroll had hymns, prayers, and spells the so-called Book of the Dead - to help Ani make a successful crossing to the next life. Holding Ani's hand is Horus, the son of the deities Isis and Osiris. Horus is presenting Ani to Osiris, the god of the dead (the underworld).

A photograph taken of Tomb WV23, in the Valley of the Kings, was the final resting place of Pharaoh Ay of the 18th Dynasty. Discovered by Giovanni Battista Belzoni in the winter of 1816, its structure is similar to that of the tomb of Akhenaten, with a straight undecorated, descending corridor, leading to a "well chamber" that has no shaft. The passage leads to the burial chamber, which currently contains the reconstructed sarcophagus. Ay was the penultimate Pharaoh of Ancient Egypt's 18th dynasty. He held the throne of Egypt for a brief four-year period (probably 1323-1319 BC or 1327-1323 BC

The standing winged creature seen here is known as the nineheaded Bes figure, a divine protector of the birth of the king and of the sun. This form of Bes was closely associated with the evening and the night part of the solar cycle. He thus also played an important role as guardian of sleeping women and children, particularly against the dangers of the night, represented here by the noxious creatures contained in the oval upon which he stands. Viharn Nam Taem is thought to be the oldest surviving wooden building in Thailand. Wat Phra That Lampang Luang was built in the 15th century and is a wooden Lanna-style temple found in the Ko Kha district of Lampang Province.

Occupations of Ani in Elysian Fields. This scene is taken from the Papyrus of Ani, a copy of the Egyptian Book of the Dead that dates to the 19th Dynasty. It shows Ani worshiping. The god Thoth introduces Ani into the presence of three gods. Ani worships the sun god Re before two altars and carries lotus flowers. It also shows him plowing and reaping in the Fields of the Dead, through which water flows.

The music of Egypt has been an integral part of Egyptian culture since ancient times. The ancient Egyptians credited one of their Gods Thoth with the invention of music, which Osiris in turn used as part of his effort to civilize the world. The earliest material and representational evidence of Egyptian musical instruments dates to the Predynastic period, but the evidence is more securely attested in the Old Kingdom when harps, flutes and double clarinets were played. Percussion instruments, lyres and lutes were added to orchestras by the Middle Kingdom. Cymbals frequently accompanied music and dance, much as they still do in Egypt today. Egyptian folk music, including the traditional Sufi dhikr rituals, are the closest contemporary music genre to ancient Egyptian music, having preserved many of its features, rhythms and instruments.
