Date: mid-17th century.Relief images of two felines in motion ornament this flask, which has been coated with a green glaze. The lower coursing feline extends its hind leg mid-stride, turning its head to gaze behind. The feline above is depicted in a low crouch as if ready to pounce. This object is one of a small group which is notable for flat sides, emerald color and molded decoration. Scholars believe these wares were produced in Iran, though the imagery may have been influenced by Chinese or European sources. Museum: Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, USA.

. Cylindrical vase of porcelain with a flat shoulder, straight neck and flat edge, painted in underglaze blue and on the glaze blue, red, green, yellow, eggplant, black and gold. The vase is covered with bleu poudré (powder blue) with two saved, rectangular cartouches with squeezed corners. In one Chinese lady (long lice) in a garden for a low table at a rock, banana plant and flowering plants (Aster). The other cartouche with a lady in a fenced garden with a ruyi scepter in her hands at a rock with bamboo and blooming plants. Between the boxes a flower vase; Above the foot curly. On the shoulder a band with a Swastika pattern interrupted by cartouches with antiques (books, ruyi scepter). On the neck flower branches. Bleu poudré with famille verte.

Covered Beaker (Humpen), 1693. Germany, 17th century. Enameled glass; overall: 36.9 x 10.4 cm (14 1/2 x 4 1/8 in.). This humpen was made for the court cellar (Hofkellerei), Dresden, which belonged to the House of Saxony, showing the arms of Johann IV zu Sachsen.

Snuff Bottle, 1890-1930, 3 5/8 x 2 3/8in. (9.2 x 6cm), Ivory, coral, China, A woman gazes through a window surrounded by the branches of a willow tree. We seem to catch her in a private moment of contemplation. Such poetic depictions of women were popular in Chinese art. The bottle is carved from ivory, an expensive material that was also difficult to carve so elaborately. Nonetheless, the scene is expertly sculpted to give the illusion of depth and shadows.
