Soviet Schools -- A Little tots' playroom in Moscow school. The education of children, in the country as well as the cities, is compulsory in the country of the Soviets. The children start school upon reaching 8 years of age. The number of schools in the Soviet Union grows rapidly year by year, Splendidly equipped schools have boon built in the most distant cornors of the Soviet Union in places where before the Revolution there was not a single literate person. Twelve children, aged from 9 to 11, worked for three months on this model farm-house. They put it on show yesterday at Middle Harbour Public Primary School's exhibition of school work and hobbies. The walls are made of matches and the roof of match-box tops. The young artisans included Robert Gibson, 10 (left) and Geoff Hind, 11, both of Cremorne. The home is 9in. high, and stands in six square feet of "ground." April 27, 1947.

Colonial Students in Great Britain- Students at University of London Institute of Education, London, England, UK, 1946 Mr J A Ankrah, from Accra, Gold Coast, helps children to mix their paints during a 'general activities' class at Marlborough Infants School, Isleworth. According to the original caption, Mr Ankrah was a student at Achimota College and won the Gold Coast Teacher's Certificate. During the war, he was seconded to the Department of Information in Accra and is 'particularly interested in schools broadcasting'. He is taking a special course in Infant-Junior work at the Institute.
