Ariadne; Antique gods. An image of Ariadne, the beloved of Bacchus, placed in a niche. Ariadne carries a star wreath to her head. With her hand she holds a staff with vines, a reference to Bacchus. Under the show a Latin fresh.

The Woman with the Arrow.This portrayal of a seated woman is based on a life study of a model, which Rembrandt then placed in a narrative context. On the left, in the darkness to one side of the woman, a face appears. Perhaps the picture is meant to show Venus, as she steals the last arrow of the love god Cupid, although the subject has also been interpreted as Cleopatra with her lover.

Her father gives her prayer hearing and saves her by wading her in a laurel tree. Laurel blades start to sprite from her head. She is wearing an arrow sleeve and bow as reference to Apollo. In addition to her is an oehoe. With Latin caption.

The Muse Erato Writing Verses Inspired by Love. Artist: Charles Meynier (French, Paris 1768-1832 Paris). Dimensions: 18 1/8 x 13 1/16 in. (46 x 33.2 cm.). Date: ca. 1797.In 1797 François-Bernard Boyer-Fonfrède, an industrial textile manufacturer, commissioned Meynier to paint nine canvases featuring Apollo and the Muses for a large room in his home in Toulouse. Meynier exhibited the painting based on this drawing at the Salon of 1800 but ultimately only completed five canvases, as his patron ran out of money. The paintings were installed in the hall of Wallenried Castle, Switzerland by General Castella de Berlens around 1824, where they remained until 1983. The group was acquired by the Cleveland Museum of Art in 2003.In this study, Erato, the muse of lyrical poetry, writes verses using Love's arrow as he whispers in her ear. Reading Made 1822 France. Many artists viewed lithography as a tool that would allow them to reproduce paintings and spread their fame. In contrast, Pierre-Paul Prudíhon was an artist who created prints as unique works of art. Working in the period following the French Revolution, his embrace of sensual and classical allegorical figures was initially at odds with the prevailing patriotic and military mood in France.
