CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - Kennedy Space Center Associate Director Kelvin Manning, in the blue Air Force shirt, speaks to Pathways and summer interns at the KARS Park I facility near the center. High school, undergraduate and graduate students participated in a team building exercise and received advice on leadership skills and working together from Kennedy's senior management.About 160 students are working and gaining experience in many of the directorates and programs during their time at Kennedy.

Students from the YMCA in Nampa, traveled to Gowen Field on June 28 as part STARBASE-Idahos forensic science camp, where they explored how to solve imaginary crimes, including the study of human anatomy and how to make bite mark impressions, as well as the study of forensic entomology and fingerprinting. They also toured the Idaho National Guards 101st Civil Support Team and some of the units equipment used to detect and identify hazardous materials and weapons of mass destruction. More than 170 Idaho students from five different schools and agencies participated in STARBASE-Idaho summer camps this summer as the program expanded from a single camp for children of Idaho National Guardsmen to eight camps with three specially designed themes.

The 165th Airlift Wing members hosted a 9/11 Memorial 5K race on September 10, 2022 at Savannah Air National Guard Base, Georgia to honor those lost as we commemorate the 21st year since the September 11, 2001 attacks. The 5k race gave the military, firefighters, and local community an opportunity to demonstrate their respect and memorialize those who were lost during the attacks on September 11, 2001. CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- On the NASA Causeway at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, school children build LEGO space vehicles inside a 40- by 70-foot activity tent. There, children of all ages are building their vision of the future with LEGO bricks, marking the beginning of a three-year Space Act Agreement between NASA and The LEGO Group. The partnership is meant to spark the interest of children in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). To commemorate the partnership, two small LEGO space shuttles will launch aboard space shuttle Discovery's STS-133 mission to the International Space Station and the company will release four NASA-inspired products in its LEGO CITY line next year. LEGO sets also will fly to the space station aboard Endeavour's STS-134 mission, and will be put together on orbit to demonstrate the challenges faced while building things in microgravity.

The USAG Humphreys Employee Assistance Program hosted Self Care Day at Collier Fitness Center on July 22, 2022. The event was held to educate the community on the importance of self-care, and available resources for mental health, resilience, and overall wellbeing on post and off-post. International Self-Care Day takes place annually on July 24.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. - Members of the Space Coast FIRST Robotics Team, known as the Pink Team, display their robot, Roccobot, at the 2005 FIRST Robotics Regional Competition held at the University of Central Florida March 10-12. The NASA-sponsored Pink Team took first place in the competition as part of a three-team alliance and advances to the Championship in Atlanta in April. The Pink Team comprises students from Rockledge High School and Cocoa Beach Junior_Senior High School.

Yokosuka, Japan (Dec. 6 2022) - A group of elementary school students from Sullivan Elementary School onboard Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka visited the military post office to make sure they mail their letters to Santa. When the first grade students arrived, they were greeted by NAVSUP FLC Yokosuka Sailors and given a lesson on how letters and packages travel to the post office from anywhere in the world and into their parent's mailboxes. With the holiday season in full swing, the young students were able to witness firsthand the massive amount of mail that passes through the post office with many packages headed for final destinations under someone's Christmas tree. A surprise visitor from the North Pole dressed all in red also dropped in to say hi to the students and handed out candy canes. At the end of the tour, the students were able to stamp their own envelopes.
