Fort McCoy and Xcel Energy are in the process of changing the electrical grid on post from a Delta Electrical System to a Wye Electrical System, Fort McCoy Directorate of Public Works officials said. Wye is a three-phase electrical system that uses a wire for each electrical leg and a separate neutral wire. Delta is also a three-phase, but uses one of the legs as the neutral so it only has three wires. Work will continue throughout the year.

CT-1 could be available to carry a variety of launch vehicles to the launch pad. A contractor completes exterior grading and landscaping work Aug. 29, 2022, as part of construction operations related to the fiscal year 2020-funded transient training troops barracks project at Fort McCoy, Wis. The $18.8 million project was awarded to L.S. Black Constructors, which is the contractor who built the first barracks building at Fort McCoy, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Resident Office at Fort McCoy. The new contract was awarded Sept. 29, 2020, and the notice to proceed was issued Oct. 28, 2020. The contract duration is scheduled for completion in 780 calendar days. Currently contract completion is scheduled for December 2022. The barracks is different than the traditional barracks located throughout the installation. This new building will be four stories and able to house 400 people in approximately 60,000 square feet. Fort McCoy and Xcel Energy are in the process of changing the electrical grid on post from a Delta Electrical System to a Wye Electrical System, Fort McCoy Directorate of Public Works officials said. Wye is a three-phase electrical system that uses a wire for each electrical leg and a separate neutral wire. Delta is also a three-phase, but uses one of the legs as the neutral so it only has three wires. Work will continue throughout the year.

Winter and spring in Wisconsin can provide all kinds of bad weather, including freezing rain, snow, or sleet at any time or even all in one day. When that happens, the Fort McCoy snow-removal team plows through whatever Mother Nature dishes out. Soldiers with the 390th Engineer Company work the "coal field fill" troop project July 26, 2022, at Fort McCoy, Wis. Fort McCoy Troop Projects Coordinator Larry Morrow with the Directorate of Public Works said the team of 390th Soldiers moved nearly 3,000 tons of dirt to cover an old coal field. The project area is in the Fort McCoy rail area next to State Highway 21 on the installations South Post. The combat engineers who are based out of Chattanooga, Tenn., were at Fort McCoy for the Army Reserves and 78th Training Divisions Warrior Exercise 78-22-02.

Fraser, Michigan, The collapse of an 11-foot-wide underground sewer line threatens environmental problems for 11 communities in suburban Detroit. The collapse created a sinkhole that destroyed three houses. Officials estimate that repairing the sewer line could cost $100 million. Until the line is fixed, they say it may be necessary to divert raw sewage into the Clinton River.

Sgt. 1st Class Shane McElderry with the Regional Training Site (RTS)-Maintenance facility at Fort McCoy, Wis., operates an Army D-7 dozer to move snow Jan. 19, 2024, in the facility's equipment yard at the installation. In mid-January 2024, Fort McCoy received more than 18 inches of snow from multiple snow events. Fort McCoy RTS-Maintenance personnel decided to take a serious approach to snow removal by utilizing the dozer.
