Reportage on a goatherd, Noémie, in Haute-Savoie, France. Noémie took over her family farm and has a herd of 75 Alpine dairy goats. Milking is twice a day, morning and evening. Between milking, Noémie converts the milk into various dairy products (cheeses, yoghurts, flans) and handles supply to her clients. Noémie would like to change to organic farming, she feeds her goats with organic cereal and fills the required criteria, but the problem with this transition lies in the choice of goats. To have goats that produce enough milk, she uses an inseminator, inseminating all the goats at the same time. For this Noémie gives a hormone to the goats to fix the dates they are on heat, but this rules out her farm from being certified organic.

Former high-level sportsman Xavier Philippe has converted to goat farming and the manufacture and sale of fresh cheese, tomme cheese, cottage cheese, faisselle, yogurt, organic milk. With the support of his parents Xavier is at the head of a herd of 60 goats which he milks every morning. Food given to goats, corn, wheat, peas, barley all organic.
