U.S. Army squads from across III Armored Corps compete for the title of the corps Best Squad during head-to-head competition at the III Armored Corps Best Squad Competition at Fort Hood, Texas, Jun. 22, 2022. The Soldiers kicked off the week-long events with the Army Combat Fitness Test, or ACFT, a test that challenges Soldiers both physically and mentally through various events. The III Armored Corps pulled only the best from across its divisions and separate brigades to compete in this years inaugural competition. The best squad goes on to compete in the U.S. Army Forces Command competition at Fort Hood in August.

The Interallied Confederation of Reserve Officers Military Competition (CIOR MILCOMP) is a three-day team competition consisting of NATO and Partnership for Peace nations in Europe. It has been around since 1957. The competition is open to all reserve components for both NCO and officer. It is now run on a volunteer basis and funded by former competitors through an alumni association.

The 26.2 mile race drew roughly 20,000 participants, more than 2,200 Marines and Sailors, and 1,500 civilian volunteers. Known as "The People's Marathon," there is no prize money for top finishers; all runners were celebrated for their honor, courage, and commitment.

The 165th Airlift Wing members hosted a 9/11 Memorial 5K race on September 10, 2022 at Savannah Air National Guard Base, Georgia to honor those lost as we commemorate the 21st year since the September 11, 2001 attacks. The 5k race gave the military, firefighters, and local community an opportunity to demonstrate their respect and memorialize those who were lost during the attacks on September 11, 2001. Fire fighters from Garden City and Pooler used their fire trucks to hang a large American flag at the starting/finishing line of the race.

(Nov. 5, 2011) Airman Sean Steale, 19, from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, an Aviation Electronics Technician Intermediate Strand A” school student was the overall winner in the first-ever Tyler Jefferson Memorial 5K Run at Corry Station. Steale completed the 3.1-mile run in 18:30. The race was sponsored by the Corry Station Chief Petty Officers Association to honor Seaman Tyler Jefferson, an Information Systems Technician "A" school student who was shot and killed while jogging through a residential neighborhood not far from Corry Station in November 2009.
