The Lycurgus Cup; 4th-century, Roman glass cage cup. Made of a dichroic glass, which shows a different colour depending on whether or not light is passing through it; red when lit from behind and green when lit from in front. It is the only complete Roman glass object made from this type of glass. The cup is also a very rare example of a complete Roman cage-cup, or diatretum. It named after King Lycurgus

Urn ca. 1831-35 French One of a pair of vases that feature two views of New York City copied from a portfolio of prints entitled "Views in New York and Its Environs" (1831-34). In an unusual departure, this vase depicts a building interior, that of the Merchant's Exchange on Wall Street, the center of commerce in what was quickly becoming the country's major commercial center. The other, entitled "Broadway from the Park," (38.165.35) shows some of lower Broadway's notable buildings, including St. Paul's Chapel and P. T. Barnum's American Museum.. Urn. French. ca. 1831-35. Tureen and stand with a ladle. Engelbert Joosten (1717-1789), The Hague, 1772, silver. This tureen and stand bear the alliance coat of arms of Baron Assueer Jan Torck and Eusebia Jacoba de Rode van Heeckeren, who were married in 1758. This couple was closely acquainted with the Stadtholder and his consort. The imposing tureen, an early example of Neoclassical Hague silver, affords a good impression of the art at and around the stadtholders court.
