Annually, tens of thousands of troops complete institutional and transient troop training operations at Fort McCoy. During June 2022, thousands of troops also trained at Fort McCoy, including troops from the Wisconsin National Guard and Iowa National Guard.

Soldiers with the Army Reserves 411th Engineer Company load railcars with military vehicles and equipment Nov. 2, 2022, at the rail yard at Fort McCoy, Wis. Overall the company loaded 128 items on to railcars over the multi-day rail movement at the installation to deploy the equipment eventually to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. Five personnel with the Fort McCoy Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) assisted with the rail movement and its coordination. The 411th is the latest of many units over the last decade to hold rail movements at Fort McCoy. As a matter of fact, for the many decades of Fort McCoys existence, the capability to transport cargo and equipment to and from the installation by rail has always been there. SANTA RITA, Guam (Jan. 12, 2023) - Sailors assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 5 rappel and fast rope from the EODMU-5 command tower during a training exercise as part of an EODMU platoon certification onboard Naval Base Guam. EODMU-5 is assigned to Commander, Task Force 75, which executes command and control of assigned Navy Expeditionary Combat Forces in the 7th Fleet area of operations. They plan and execute Naval Construction, Expeditionary Logistics, Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Maritime Expeditionary Security, and Exploitation Forces assigned to Commander, 7th Fleet for crisis response, humanitarian assistance, and major combat operations.

U.S. Navy Corpsmen with 2nd Battalion, 24th Marines (2/24) participate in a Valkyrie Whole Blood Transfusion Course on July 26, 2022, at Range 18 at Fort McCoy, Wis. Valkyrie is the whole blood transfusion program run by 1st Marine Division aboard Camp Pendleton (Calif.) that teaches all of their Corpsmen how to perform field blood transfusions. The 2/24 is an infantry battalion based out of Chicago consisting of approximately 1,000 Marines and Sailors. The battalion falls under the 24th Marine Regiment and the 4th Marine Division.
