Excavation and demolition continue at the Locks and Dam 4 near Charleroi during a project managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District on the Monongahela River in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, April 5, 2022. As the excavation and demolition phase nears completion, the project has transitioned to construction, which includes prepping the miter sill for concrete placement, running electrical, finishing the foundation for the bulkhead sill, pouring concrete, anchoring the river wall and more. The Charleroi project began in 2004. The federal government funds half of the projects cost, while the other half is covered by navigation industry through taxes paid on diesel fuel.

Contractors for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Alaska District are preparing the project office site for the 16/34 runway extension project on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson on Nov. 9, 2022. The runway will be extended about 2,500 feet and allow JBER to have two functional runways of about 10,000-feet long each. The project also includes the first storm water subsurface infiltration system to be installed on the installation.

The system and the bunkers at the base also are being dismantled.In 2009, the pad was no longer needed for the shuttle program, so it is being restructured for future use. Its new design will feature a "clean pad" for rockets to come with their own launcher, making it more versatile for a number of vehicles. The new lightning protection system, which was in place for the October 2009 launch of Ares I-X, will remain.
