PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 27, 2016) Sailors assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) participate in a general quarters drill. Nimitz is currently underway conducting Tailored Ship's Training Availability and Final Evaluation Problem (TSTA/FEP), which evaluates the crew on their performance during training drills and real-world scenarios. Once Nimitz completes TSTA/FEP they will begin Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) and Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) in preparation for an upcoming 2017 deployment.

GREAT LAKES, Il. (Jan. 10, 2024) New-accession Sailors man a firehose at Surface Warfare Engineering Schools Command Great Lakes general shipboard firefighting (GSF) course at Naval Station Great Lakes. The two-day curriculum encompasses in-classroom lessons pertaining to fire chemistry, classes of fires (alpha, bravo, and charlie), fire party organization, portable extinguishers, protective equipment, as well as self-contained breathing apparatus during the first day, and live firefighting trainer labs cover wild hose, hose handling, and firefighting procedures during the second day. GSF Great Lakes meets the U.S. Navys six-year level one firefighting requirement, a training requirement for every Sailor stationed aboard a U.S. naval vessel. The school has qualified approximately 6,500 accession Sailors each year for the past six years

The 378th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron Fire and Emergency Services Flight hosted a firefighter challenge for Airmen, Soldiers and personnel assigned to Prince Sultan Air Base, Oct. 15, 2022.The challenge tested the participants physical strength and endurance with simulated tasks that are common to fire scenes.
