This photograph shows the Mustard Gas Plant located at Edgewood Arsenal in Maryland, operated by the Chemical Warfare Service during World War I. The plant was designed for the production of mustard gas, an infamous chemical weapon used during the war. The photograph was taken on February 19, 1921, and issued by the Army for documentation purposes.
