Madrid, 02/23/1981. Coup d'état of February 23. Lieutenant General D. Manuel Gutiérrez Mellado, First Vice President of the Government for Defense Affairs, stood up in his seat, next to that of Adolfo Suárez, and faced the assailants. This can be seen in this photo taken by ABC graphic editor Teodoro Naranjo, who, upon leaving Congress on the 23rd, had cameras and film taken from him, which he was able to recover the next day.

Final Act of the Second Peace Conference. The Hague, 18 October 1907, from 15 June until 18 October 1907. The Final Acts constitute authoritative statements of the results achieved. They were signed by the delegates but not ratified by the participating states. It has no binding force. The conference of 1907, though first proposed by U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt, was officially convened by Nicholas II. This conference was attended by the representatives of 44 states.
