120130-N-ZZ999-161ATLANTIC OCEAN (Jan. 30, 2012) Sailors aboard the multipurpose amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) prepare to move a HSC-22 Sea Knight helicopter inside the hangar bay. The Jima Amphibious Ready Group is underway participating in Bold Alligator 2012 and conducting a final certification exercise in preparation for an upcoming deployment. Bold Alligator 2012 is the largest naval amphibious exercise in the past 10 years and represents the Navy and Marine Corps' revitalization of the full range of amphibious operations. The exercise focuses on today's fight with today's forces, while showcasing the advantages of sea basing. This exercise will take place Jan. 30 through Feb. 12, 2012 afloat and ashore in and around Virginia and North Carolina.

PACIFIC OCEAN (April 2, 2022) Aviation Boatswains Mate 3rd Class Tasad Townsend, from Marion, S.C., assigned to amphibious transport dock ship USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26) directs a MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter, attached to the “Island Knights” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25 to move into position for landing during flight quarters, April 2. John P. Murtha is underway conducting routine operations in U.S. 7th Fleet.

Tripoli is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and maintain stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

Nimitz is conducting Tailored Ship's Training Availability and Final Evaluation Problems (TSTA/FEP). TSTA prepares the ship and crew for full integration into a carrier strike group through a wide range of mission-critical operations.
