Life at the Tapley Park Children's Home (the Chaim Weizmann Home), Instow, Devon, October 1942 A cook at the Chaim Weizmann Home at Tapley Park, Instow, Devon, cuts oranges for the children. Oranges were scarce during the Second World War and priority for this fruit was given to children over adults. When oranges weren't available, orange juice and blackcurrant puree provided an alternative source of vitamin C.

It consists of three pieces of brown bread (about 150 grams), one cup (and only one) of coffee, about 200 grams of dehydrated eggs, and a goulash (stew) of about 200 grams. Dining equipment consists of a spoon, canteen cup without handle, and a GI meat can.
