An example of the insistence of the area engineer of the U.S.E.D. in using the 1942 Army road as a control for the alignment of final construction. Morse Brothers following instructions widened this reverse curve and moved their equipment ahead; later on a change of heart by the Area engineer brought back a few pieces of equipment and a well aligned road was built through the clearing.
