The "Ocean" Goes to Cyprus - Dressed overall, the Aircraft Carrier "Ocean" is seen in Mount's Bay (Penzance) shortly before being recalled to go to Cyprus. She was visiting Penzance for the National West of England Redwing Yacht Championships.The Light Fleet Aircraft Carrier H.M.S. "Ocean" (13, 190) has had her week's visit to Penzance cut short. She was anchored in Mount's Bay Penzance, where she was due to stay for the duration of the National West of England Redwing yacht Championships. Leaking Destroyer In Sydney Seeking Repairs - Possibly, the reason the Dutch destroyer Piet Hien could not be docked in Australia was that shipyards were crowded to capacity, Navy Minister (Mr. Makin) said in Canberra today. The destroyer, leaking badly, has been limping from port to port in Australia seeking repairs. She arrived in Sydney this morning, and if she can't get docking will probably go to New Zealand. Honduras "Mission" Ship Arrives Home For Re-Fit - Sure sign of home - H.M.S. Sheffield, flying her Paying-Off Penant-arrives at Chatham after her memorable commission.The 9,100-ton cruiser, H.M.S. Sheffield, arrived home at Chatham, Kent, to-day (Friday) from a notable mission. She was one of the cruisers which carried troops to Belize, capital of British Honduras, to cope with any possible trouble from Guatemala. Commanded by Captain Fawkes (George, not "Guy"), H.M.S. Sheffield will under a refit before undertaking any further voyages. November 05, 1948.
