The Royal Navy during the Second World War HMT ADRONIE CAMIEL, underway at sea. This was one of three Belgian fishing trawlers that escaped from the Belgian coast and now help to guard the British coast around Milford Haven and Fishguard.

Latest launch of a torpedo MK 8 on the speech of Den Helder, 1978. On board the Torpedo ship Ship Mercuur the invitees / veterans who gave the whole a festive touch. In the Second World War, this torpedo, on enemy units, is launched by Dutch submarines in both the Mediterranean and in the East.

And Half A Ship Comes Home -- Half a ship - the aft portion of the Panamanian oil tanker JANKO (9,720 tons) - is towed into Falmouth Harbour by harbour tugs after being brought to Britain by the deep sea tug Bustler. Polish Ship Stopped In Thames -- A tug and two Thames Police launches seen alongside the Polish steamer Jaroslaw Dabrowski (3,219 tons) as she lies at anchor in the Thames at Gallenon's Reach, off Woolwich, today (Saturday).The ship had been stopped by river police about an hour after she had left the Pool of London early today so that immigration authorities might board her.A Pole, Antoni Klimowicz, 24, whom quayside workers had described as a stowaway seeking political asylum in Britain, was said to be aboard. Also reported to be in the ship were Dr. Joseph Cort, 26-year-old American scientist, and his wife, Dr. Ruth Cort, 28, who are said to have accepted political asylum in Czechoslovakia rather than return to the United States. Gleaming with new paint, the 600-ton Australian Whaling Commission catcher Carnarvon is pictured just before she slides into the water from the Fremantle slipway after her annual refit.She will have trials today in preparation for the whaling season which begins in June.The Carnarvon is the veteran of the Commission fleet, with five commission fleet, with five seasons behind her and 1,354 whales to her credit-top score for the Babbage Island fleet.Whaling companies in this State are now overhauling their gear in readiness for the new season. Ex Aircraft-Carrier Will Take British Migrants To August -- The 12,000-ton liner Fairsea (pictured here) has been chartered by the Australian Immigration Department to meet the heavy demands of British migrants for passages to Australia.She replaces the Georgic, which has been withdrawn from the British Australian run. Her first voyage as a British Migrant ship will start on December 5, when she leaves Southampton with 1,470 passengers. Sydney Harbour Ferry Disaster -- The terrific impact smashed the Greycliffe like matchwood. Vessels of all sorts made quickly to the scene. Some to rescue the dozens of persons struggling in the water and others to clear away the wreckage. Here the broken bridge of the ferry steamer is being lifted from the water. January 20, 1950.
