Trajans Column is a Roman column commemorating the Roman Emperor Trajans victory in the Dacian Wars. Located in Trajans Forum, north of the Roman Forum. The spiral Bas Relief artistically describes the epic battles between the Romans and Dacians. Completed in 113 AD. Rome. Italy 2013

Pergamum Altar in the Pergamum Museum in Berlin. It is a monumental construction built during the reign of King Eumenes 11 in the first half of the 2nd century BC on one of the terraces of the acropolis of the ancient city of Pergamum in Asia Minor. It is 35.64 meters wide and 33.4 meters deep. The front stairway is almost 20 meters wide. The base is decorated with a frieze in high relief showing the battle between the Giants and Olympian gods known as the Gigantomachy. In 1878 the German engineer Carl Human began official excavations on the acropolis of Pergamum. The excavation was undertaken in order to rescue the altar friezes and expose the foundation of the edifice. Later, other ancient structures on the acropolis were brought to light.

The Magnanimity of Seleucus. Quellinus made three marble reliefs for the Vierschaar (Tribunal) in the Amsterdam Town Hall. Each is devotedto an example of sound judgement from antiquity. This is the clay model for the marble relief of Seleucuswho decreed that his sons eyes be gouged out. To spare him from total blindness, Seleucus sharedhis sons punishment and had one of his own eyes put out - a paragon of magnanimity.

The Bassae Frieze comprises a series of relief marble sculptures from the Temple of Apollo Epikourios at Bassae, Greece. It was discovered in 1811 by Carl Haller and Charles Cockerell. From the style of the frieze it belongs to the High Classical period, probably carved around 400 BC.

Relief from the Nereid Monument is a sculptured tomb from Xanthus in classical period Lycia, Turkey. It took the form of a Greek temple on top of a base decorated with sculpted friezes, and is thought to have been built in the early fourth century BC as a tomb for Arbinas, the Xanthian dynast who ruled western Lycia

The Bayon was originally the official state temple of the Mahayana Buddhist King Jayavarman VII. The Bayon, at the centre of Angkor Thom (Great City), was established in the 12th century by King Jayavarman VII. Angkor Thom, meaning The Great City’, is located one mile north of Angkor Wat. It was built in the late 12th century CE by King Jayavarman VII, and covers an area of 9 km², within which are located several monuments from earlier eras as well as those established by Jayavarman and his successors. It is believed to have sustained a population of 80,000-150,000 people. At the centre of the city is Jayavarman's state temple, the Bayon, with the other major sites clustered around the Victory Square immediately to the north. Angkor Thom was established as the capital of Jayavarman VII's empire, and was the centre of his massive building programme. One inscription found in the city refers to Jayavarman as the groom and the city as his bride. Angkor Thom seems not to be the first Khmer
