(Bill) Bolger, former Austrailan Open titleholder was lucky to escape serious injury when struck on the arm by a ball at Yeerong-pilly, Brisbane, last Monday.Bolger's left arm stopped the ball on the full at the finish of a 250-yard drive. He dropped to the ground in pain and after resting for a few minutes continued in the match, but had to restrict his shots. Massage and hot presses brought the swelling down and the arm was normal by Tuesday. Bill is worried, however, with his putting. He cannot find touch W. Bolger on the couch grass greens of the Queenotriad courses. March 07, 1941.
