Public Library- the work of Leyton Public Library Service, Church Lane, Leytonstone, London, England, UK, September 1944 Students at work in the study room at Leytonstone Public Library. The room was provided for use by students who do not have suitable accommodation in their own homes, and contains a bronze memorial tablet to John Drinkwater (1882-1937), a poet and dramatist born in Leytonstone. The plaque was unveiled by John Drinkwater's widow.

Workers Welfare at a Royal Ordnance Factory- Life at Rof Bridgend, January 1942 A scene in the busy canteen at the war workers hostel at ROF Bridgend. War workers and their guests enjoy a cup of tea and a bun in the canteen, which is always open. According to the original caption, the canteen stocks toilet items and stamps as well as light refreshments. This sign which is just visible on the counter asks people to return their crockery to the counter when they have finished their meal.
