Sixteen Year Olds Register- Teenagers Receive Their Adult Id Cards at the Labour Exchange, London, England, UK, 1945 16 year old Margaret Neal, a dressmaker's assistant, registers at the Islington Labour Exchange for her adult Identity Card. According to the original caption, Margaret 'does not take evening classes, neither does she belong to a Youth Organisation, and so will be interviewed later by the Youth Authorities'. War Comes To School- Life at Peckham Central School, London, England, 1943 Irene Parsons and Edward Perkins bring their Christmas cards into school for the salvage collection, as their classmates and teacher look on. The box is on the floor at the front of the classroom. A table has a banner with the words 'salvage' and 'victory' intersecting at the 'V'. Posters around the room highlight the importance of the contribution to the war effort of people in the Colonies. According to the original caption, Irene's father is a tailor and the family home was bombed. Edward's father is a butcher and he has a brother in the army.

Malayan College In Britain -- Kirkby Training College, Liverpool, has been taken over by the Government of the Federation of Malaya for the training of teachers for Malayan Schools.After a science class some of the Malayan students gather round Miss Olive E. Beauchamp, Lecturer in Science, to look at the English daffodil bulbs, which are growing in fibre. These are the first which the students have seen.
