First Photo Of Live Atomic Reactor -- This is a picture of the inside of a live atomic reactor, published today by the magazine Scientific American. The camera was placed by remote control and the picture was made while the reactor was immersed in water. The walls of the reactor are deep purple and there are light blue rays at the bottom. The rays are believed to be Cernekov rays which show better through water. September 27, 1951. (Photo by AP Wirephoto).

The Big Nugget found under Wilson Street, Wedderburn, opposite the Presbyterian Church, is being examined at the Royal Mint today by the registrar, Mr. E. M. Plumridge. Gold contained in this and other parts of the nugget shown on the bench weighed 75.81 oz. and is valued at more than £1100. March 20, 1950.

A Simple means of clearly marking a poison bottle by thrusting a number of tracks through a broad rubber band and putting it over the bottle. July 17, 1950.

Focused on an inclined mirror reflecting the field of operation the camera gives the television screen observer a continuous and unimpeded view of the operation. This mirror was devised after experiment and research by ***** staff and G.W.A. Engineers. January 30, 1950.
