Country House Opera:Finishing touches in the dressing room.The Glyndebourne Opera Festival is the only country house entertainment of its kind in Great Britain. It was started in 1934 by John Christie, former science master at Eton and owner of Glyndebourne in an attempt to make a Salzburg in Sussex. Ready For The Big Shinding -- The Marquis De Cuevas, scheduled to play host to the international set at an $85,000 party Tuesday night near Biarritz, in southern France, gets a final fitting on his 18th century costume in Paris. French designer Pierre Balmain puts the finishing touches to the colorful outfit, which conforms to the 18th century decor set for the big show. Guests, numbering between 2,000 and 3,000 persons will include royalty, film stars, fashion experts and news representatives.
