The Arminian Schans in Leiden, 1618, Claes Jansz. Visscher (II), 1618 print Leaf with a performance and a description of the Arminian Schans in Leiden. De Schans was founded on October 5, 1617 in the Breestraat near the town hall to protect the Remonstrant's mindship and value gelders. The print has probably been copied to an earlier print with French verses (see FM 1327), but it is also possible that this plate is the original. An allegorical element is placed above the ramp entitled 'D'Arminiaensche Bullback'. Under the show there is a description of the events until 4 September 1618 and a statement of the letters in the show.
