ISS030-E-173911 (24 March 2012) --- NASA astronaut Dan Burbank, Expedition 30 commander, reviews crew procedures in the Kibo laboratory of the International Space Station as crew members prepare to move to the appropriate Soyuz vehicles, due to the possibility that space debris could pass close to the station. Burbank, Shkaplerov and Ivanishin sheltered in the Soyuz TMA-22 spacecraft attached to the Poisk Mini-Research Module 2 (MRM2) while Kononenko, Kuipers and Pettit took to the Soyuz TMA-03M docked to the Rassvet Mini-Research Module 1 (MRM-1).

ISS023-E-031580 (4 May 2010) --- Russian cosmonauts Alexander Skvortsov (foreground) and Mikhail Kornienko, both Expedition 23 flight engineers, work with the European Matroshka-R Phantom experiment in the Kibo laboratory of the International Space Station. Matroshka, the name for the traditional Russian set of nestling dolls, is an antroph-amorphous model of a human torso designed for radiation studies.

ISS024-E-012668 (30 Aug. 2010) --- NASA astronaut Tracy Caldwell Dyson, Expedition 24 flight engineer, uses Neurospat hardware to perform the Bodies in the Space Environment (BISE) experiment in the Destiny laboratory of the International Space Station. The Canadian Space Agency-sponsored BISE experiment studies how astronauts perceive up and down in microgravity.

The study investigates how astronauts regulate their grip force and move their arms when manipulating objects in microgravity in response to pre-programmed stimuli as a computer and video cameras record the responses.

ISS030-E-235581 (11 April 2012) --- In the International Space Stations Destiny laboratory, NASA astronaut Don Pettit, Expedition 30 flight engineer, conducts the first of three sessions on the ROBoT simulator in preparation for the arrival of the SpaceX Dragon. Slated for liftoff on April 30, 2012, at 12:22 (EDT) from the Kennedy Space Center, the goal of Dragons planned 21-day mission will be to test the unpiloted capsules ability to rendezvous with the space station.

ISS038-E-042099 (5 Feb. 2014) --- Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Koichi Wakata, Expedition 38 flight engineer, works to install a deployer mechanism, also known as the Small Satellite Orbital Deployer (SSOD), inside the airlock in the International Space Station's Kibo laboratory. The SSOD will be used in concert with the Kibo robotic arm to "launch" the first set of NanoRacks CubeSats. The deployment of the first batch of CubeSats, which had originally been scheduled for this week, has been postponed and the exact date of the CubeSat deployment is still being evaluated.

ISS040-E-013914 (18 June 2014) --- In the International Space Station's Kibo laboratory, NASA astronauts Steve Swanson (left), Expedition 40 commander; and Reid Wiseman, flight engineer, conduct test runs of the SPHERES-Slosh experiment, using the soccer-ball-sized, free-flying satellites known as Synchronized Position Hold, Engage, Reorient, Experimental Satellites, or SPHERES. The SPHERES-Slosh investigation uses small robotic satellites on the space station to examine how liquids move around inside containers in microgravity.

ISS038-E-013708 (9 Dec. 2013) --- In the International Space Station's Destiny laboratory, NASA astronaut Rick Mastracchio, Expedition 38 flight engineer, prepares Robonaut 2 for an upcoming ground-commanded firmware update that will support the installation of a pair of legs for the humanoid robot. R2 was designed to test out the capability of a robot to perform tasks deemed too dangerous or mundane for astronauts. Robonaut's legs are scheduled to arrive to the station aboard the SpaceX-3 commercial cargo mission in February 2014.

Grunsfeld had just opened the hatch that leads from the mid deck to the airlock. The Cyclops platform, also known as the Space Station Integrated Kinetic Launcher for Orbital Payload Systems (SSIKLOPS), holds and ejects nanosatellites from outside the ISS.

ISS040-E-019300 (25 June 2014) --- In the International Space Stations Kibo laboratory, European Space Agency astronaut Alexander Gerst, Expedition 40 flight engineer, prepares to transfer a multi-purpose experiment platform and a robotic arm known as the Small Fine Arm through the Kibo modules scientific airlock. The Small Fine Arm, which attaches to the Kibos larger main arm, handles delicate operations involved in exchanging experiments and payloads located on the Exposed Facility.

VO2max uses the Portable Pulmonary Function System (PPFS), CEVIS, Pulmonary Function System (PFS) gas cylinders and mixing bag system, plus multiple other pieces of hardware to measure oxygen uptake and cardiac output.

S128-E-007275 (4 Sept. 2009) --- As the STS-128 crew and the Space Shuttle Discovery are about half way through their mission, the countenance of astronaut Kevin Ford, pilot, seen here on the middeck, shows his pleasure with the way things are going. At this point, from inside the shuttle and station, Ford and his crewmates have supported two of three spacewalks, with the final one scheduled for Sept. 5. Aside from the spacewalks, a long list of tasks has been performed by the aggregation of 13 astronauts and cosmonautssharing space on the two spacecraft for several days.

Results from this ongoing investigation of colloids mixtures of small particles distributed throughout a liquid will help materials scientists to develop new consumer products with unique properties and longer shelf lives.

The duo finalized upgrading power systems on the International Space Station's Port-6 truss structure during both spacewalks.

Astrobee-Zero Robotics Technology Demonstration. iss069e008378 (May 2, 2023) --- NASA astronaut and Expedition 69 Flight Engineer Woody Hoburg tests one of the space stations Astrobee robots for Zero Robotics, a student competition to write software to control the free-flying robots. The program promotes teamwork and awareness of space career opportunities and students learn about artificial intelligence, systems engineering, and human-robot collaboration.

CFE observes the flow of fluid, in particular capillary phenomena, in microgravity.

The purpose of the analyzer is to measure the concentrations of carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide, hydrogen chloride and oxygen.

iss058e013795 (2/15/2019) --- Canadian Space Agency (CSA) astronaut David Saint-Jacques is shown onboard the International Space Station (ISS) performing the Time Perception in Microgravity investigation. The goal of the Time Perception in Microgravity experiment is to investigate the perception of time to crew members aboard the International Space Station (ISS). Crewmembers are asked to evaluate or reproduce the display duration of a blue square presented in the center of the head-mounted display. The results are compared with pre- and postflight baselines.

The MDCA contains hardware and software to conduct unique droplet combustion experiments in space.

InSPACE-3 applies different magnetic fields to vials of colloids, or liquids with microscopic particles, and observes how fluids can behave like a solid. Results may improve the strength and design of materials for stronger buildings and bridges.

This drill gives crew members the opportunity to work as a team in resolving a simulated medical emergency onboard the space station.

The Matroshka experiment package is shrouded (aft) with the brown carry bags for the CKK hardware (fwd) along with tools and other needed items.
