Umbria Terni Ferentillo Abbazia di S. Pietro in Valle8. Hutzel, Max 1960-1990 The abbey was founded on the location where two hermits, Lazzaro and Giovanni, lived during the sixth century. It was founded by the Duke of Spoleto Faroaldo II. The nave of the church is unique in that it is oriented to the east. The church was reconstructed in the tenth and eleventh centuries, and it was completely restored in 1931.
