The Sea Chanters performed 19 concerts over 22 days, covering 2800 ground miles throughout Washington, Oregon, California and Arizona during their 2023 national tour. National tours allow the band to connect with communities in areas of the country that do not have opportunities to see the Navys premier musical ensembles on a regular basis, and to honor those who have served and continue to serve in the military.

Brendan ODonnell in Section 83 of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., Oct. 14, 2022.ODonnell entered the Marine Corps in October of 1950 and fought in the Korean War as a second lieutenant. By early April 1951, ODonnell had become a platoon leader in Company D, 2nd Battalion of the 7th Marine Regiment, supporting the Armys 1st Cavalry Division. His platoon was fighting to the Kansas Line, along the 38th parallel the dividing line between North and South Korea. The Marine Forces Reserve Band demonstrated their talents at Allen High School in Allen, Tx. on Oct. 11, 2022. Instruments in hand, they put on a great display of concert, jazz, and brass music for the students within the schools own band program. The band is located in New Orleans and derives a lot of their electrifying performances from the vibrant culture within the streets of Louisiana. The Musician Enlistment Option Program (MEOP) gives young men and women the opportunity to fight and win our Nations battles while pursuing their passion for music.

Col. James Megellas, Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., Sept. 2, 2022.Megellas is considered the most decorated officers in the history of the 82nd Airborne Division. His awards include the Distinguished Service Cross, two Silver Stars, two Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts, and other military honors for his World War II European service. Megellas is being considered for the Medal of Honor for his service and leadership during the Battle of the Bulge, an upgrade of the Silver Star he received for this service.Megellass grandson, James Megellas, received the U.S. flag from his service.

Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, May 21, 2003 - A Sailor plays Taps to honor those killed 59 years ago in Hawaii's West Loch tragedy when explosions of unknown origin killed 163, injured 396, and sunk eight ships.

A U.S. Navy bugler, assigned to Navy Region Hawaii, plays taps while Sailors and the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) conduct an interment for U.S. Navy Fireman Second Class Richard E. Casto at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii, Oct. 24, 2022. Casto was assigned to the USS Oklahoma which sustained fire from Japanese aircraft and multiple torpedo hits causing the ship to capsize and resulted in the deaths of more than 400 crew members on Dec. 7, 1941, at Ford Island, Pearl Harbor. DPAAs mission is to achieve the fullest possible accounting for missing and unaccounted-for U.S. personnel to their families and the nation.

JINHAE, Republic of Korea - Members of the Republic of Korea Jinhae Naval Base Command band performed "Anchors Aweigh" during the Commander, Fleet Activities Chinhae (CFAC) Change of Command Ceremony. During the ceremony, Cmdr. Preston Rackauskas relieved Cmdr. Michael Vaas, becoming CFAC's 20th commanding officer. FAC is located in the Jinhae District of Changwon City on the Southeastern coast of Republic of Korea is the only U.S. Navy installation on the Korean pennisula.
