Carter Hall is participating in Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) off the East Coast of the United States in preparation for a scheduled deployment this spring.

Green Bay participated in the rescue of Happy II after the vessel experienced an electrical fire. The fire was extinguished and no casualties were reported.

PACIFIC OCEAN (Feb. 18, 2014) An MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter from the Chargers of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 14 hovers over Range Support Craft (RSC) 1 in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego. The HSC-14 and the Raptors of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 71 are conducting helicopter visit, board, search, and seizure training. The exercise is part of the Helicopter Advanced Readiness Program (HARP) in preparation for an upcoming deployment.

U.S. Navy Landing Craft, Utility 1663 exits the well deck of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) to debark multinational forces for an amphibious assault during exercise UNITAS LXIII, Sept. 16, 2022. The multinational amphibious assault was one of the culminating events of UNITAS LXIII. Ashland, part of the America Expeditionary Strike Group is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners, serving as a ready-response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

EDITERRANEAN SEA (Feb. 26, 2015) Sailors from the guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) conduct a visit, board, search and seizure exercise with the French navy frigate La Fayette (F 710). Donald Cook is forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, and is conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe.

The joint U.S. and Cabo Verdean team, with support from the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) and Maritime Analysis and Operations Centre - Narcotics (MAOC-N), interdicted one of the largest trans-oceanic drug shipments. Hershel "Woody" Williams is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Sixth Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national interests and security in Europe and Africa.

Now in its 17th year, Pacific Partnership is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific.

Benfold first detected the small fishing craft with the help of their state-of-the-art optical sight system.

The Maritime Expeditionary Security Force is a core Navy capability that provides port and harbor security, high value asset security, and maritime security in the coastal and inland waterways.

NASA's Recovery Team, along with the U.S. Navy, practice recovering a test version of the Orion capsule as part of Underway Recovery Test-7 (URT-7) in the Pacific Ocean. URT-7 is one in a series of tests that the Exploration Ground Systems Recovery Team, along with the U.S. Navy, are conducting to verify and validate procedures and hardware that will be used to recover the Orion spacecraft after it splashes down in the Pacific Ocean following deep space exploration missions. Orion will have emergency abort capability, sustain the crew during space travel and provide safe re-entry from deep space return velocities.

The crew USCGC Oliver Henry (WPC 1140) visit Ulithi Atoll on Oct. 31, 2022, the first time a fast response cutter visited the atoll and delivered 20 boxes of supplies, 50 personal floatation devices, and sporting equipment donated by the cutter crew, the extended U.S. Coast Guard Guam family, Ulithi Falalop Community Action Program, Guam Island Girl Power Foundation, and Ayuda Foundation. Ulithi was a central U.S. staging area during World War II, and home to a U.S. Coast Guard Loran-C communications station from 1944 to 1965 before operations relocated to Yap and ultimately shuttered in 1987.
