Coast Guard-Manned LST Ready For Rail Loading. At a British port, a track shooting out into the steel jaws of a Coast Guard-manned LST is photographed from the vessel's upper deck. The connection has been made. Shortly, freight cars of the Army Transportation Corps will roll onto the ship's track-equipped tank landing deck, be ferried to the Coast of France, and pushed onto a land track stretching to the water's edge. Thus, the Coast Guard has helped link railroads in England and France.
