P.J.H. In 1882 Cuypers wrote a competition for designing stained glass windows for the front hall of the Rijksmuseum. He invited six artists to participate and send a test window with Apelles. Five of them gave it to this: W.F. Dixon, H.J.J. Geuer, F. Nicolas and the Tyrolean glass malerei und Cathedralenglashuette. Dixon finally got the assignment. His window was placed. The four deletions are stored in the Rijksmuseum.
