The astronaut class of 2013 was selected by NASA after an extensive year-and-a-half search. The new group will help the agency push the boundaries of exploration and travel to new destinations in the solar system.

Students designed software to control Synchronized Position Hold Engage and Reorient Experimental Satellites, or SPHERES, and competed with other teams locally.The Zero Robotics is a robotics programming competition where the robots are SPHERES. The competition starts online, where teams program the SPHERES to solve an annual challenge. After several phases of virtual competition in a simulation environment that mimics the real SPHERES, finalists are selected to compete in a live championship aboard the space station. Students compete to win a technically challenging game by programming their strategies into the SPHERES satellites. The programs are autonomous and the students cannot control the satellites

With the theme "Nevertheless She Persisted," Morgan described her experience as the first female engineer working in the space program in the 1960s. Morgan was the first female in the Launch Control Center firing room during the Apollo 11 launch. Defense Logistics Agency Aviation held its first Aviation Leadership Academy in the Frank B. Lotts Conference Center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia Oct. 11-13, 2022. Fort McCoy members participate in servant leadership training April 27, 2022, at Fort McCoy, Wis. The training was coordinated by the Fort McCoy Directorate of Human Resources and Viterbo University. A Fort McCoy Directorate of Human Resources leader who helped organize the training said the training is good for the Fort McCoy workforce because it specifically shows the workforce that regardless of age, rank, or status, its always good to be a lifelong learner. And that leader said its also important for government employees to remember they serve. They serve the employee first, taxpayers, service members, family members, and the country. And the leader said that being a servant leader is about who you are, not what you do.

David Brenner, of Long Island, N.Y., director, Leader Development Academy, Naval Medical Leader and Professional Development Command (NMLPDC), traveled to the Tri-Service Research Laboratory to brief results of a Predictive Index behavioral assessment to Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU) San Antonio. The Predictive Index, which was taken by members of the command in December 2022, is a self-report measurement in the form of a 6-10 minute survey that asks a person to choose adjectives that describe their personality. It was developed and validated for use within occupational and organizational populations. NMLPDC utilizes mobile training teams of certified analysts to administer the Predictive Index behavioral assessment to commands of Navy Medicine world-wide.
