St. Procopius of Scythopolis, Martyr and the first victim of the persecution of the Church in Palestine by Emperor Diocletian. The account of his martyrdom was composed by the historian Eusebius of Caesarea who called him 'the Great.' He was born in Jerusalem but moved to Scythopolis. Procopius was a reader in Scythopolis at the time of his arrest by Roman authorities. He was beheaded.

This engraving shows workers harvesting frankincense in Arabia. The engraving accompanied text in Thevet's 1575 work 'Universal Cosmography.' The French monk Andre Thevet was a cosmographer. Frankincense is an aromatic resin that traces its origins to the Arabian peninsula.

Views of the interior include: a stoup, 17th century wood pulpit, altar paintings, marble altar and baroque altarpiece with details of sculptures and paintings. Most views are of the 14th century frescoes. On the entrance wall is a curious scene of the Last Judgment: Christ in a mandorla sits enthroned among various saints, music-making angels, Virgins and Patriarchs; three saints kneel below him, one in bishops' robes and two in Capuchin habit; instruments of the Passion lay on a table. In the lower register, nude souls cross a bridge, are judged by St. Michael, and then climb up a palm tree to enter a house whereupon they are clothed and dance. Granite: relief on the wall of the entrance to the Seok-gu-ram Grotto (Cave Temple), Kyeongju. The Keumgang-Yeoksa are regarded as supernatural beings in Buddhism that guard the gates of the temple. In Korea, similarities have been drawn between the posture of the Gate Guardians and the Taekwondo basic posture. Some claim that the very existence of these beings in Buddhism and depicted in every Buddhist branch in Asia is originally from the Greek legendary being: Heracles. The Seokguram grotto is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage and as the Korean National Treasure number 24. The Seokguram Grotto was initiated in 751 by King Kyeongdeok of Silla and completed by his son in 774 by King Hyegong of Silla. St Brendan and the whale from a 16th century engraving Saint Brendan of Clonfert or Bréanainn of Clonfert (c. 484 c. 577) Situated somewhere west of Europe, St. Brendans Isle is a phantom island often regarded as myth, since, unless it is the so-called Eighth Canary Island known since time immemorial to the Spanish and Portuguese authorities as San Borondón, only a few have claimed to have seen it. In the Irish tradition, the island is named after the Saint Brendan who founded the Clonfert monastery and monastic school. It was apparently discovered by the saint and his followers while they were traveling across the ocean, evangelizing to islands. It appeared on numerous maps in Christopher Columbus time, apparently acting as one of the things spurring him on to explore the ocean westwards. In this parable, a rich man upon his death is sent to hell for ignoring the needs of a certain beggar named Lazarus (a character distinct from the man Jesus later resurrects), who had pleaded at his door for scraps and subsequently died. Now, as the rich man beseeches Abraham for relief from his sufferings, the Old Testament patriarch castigates him for his greed and his lack of charity during his lifetime. Here Tissot imaginatively creates a powerful image of the rich mans descent into a smoky and shadowy netherworld, while the beggar Lazarus, now protected by the Old Testament patriarch, sits on Abrahams shoulder.
