American tennis professional Bobby Riggs mentioned recently that Frankie Parker's new forehand had "improved out of sight."it is interesting to recall that in 1939, John Bromwich won the final match of the Davis cup challenge with the loss of four games "by concentrating on Parker's new forehand.So Frankie had a "new forehand" in 1939, too!Riggs, like Budge, has been responsible for some optimistic utterances, which even go as far as claiming that America will beat Australia five to nil in the Davis cup challenge round. Wimbledon's greatest ever singles match is over. Seventeen thousand people cheer for more than five minutes as Victor *****.Jaroslav Drobny, the man they say cannot fight, the quitter, the fatalist, the man who lies down, killed forever all such illusions when he won the greatest match of his career at Wimbledon yesterday against Budge Patty, Drobny won 8-6, 16-18, 3-6, 8-6, 12-10, after four-and-aquarter hours of unadulterated courage by both men, greater than anything ever seen at Wimbledon. This was ninety-three games of greatness. At the end the 17,000 crowd stood and cheered both these great-hearted players for more than five minutes. It was a wonderful tribute.
