Bartholomeus van der Wal. At the end of 1947 he organized a packet promotion under the soldiers in Indonesia under the name Smit & van der Wal. He sold the goods worth tens of thousands of guilders in the Netherlands in the Netherlands and many Dutch families waited in vain. Van der Wal was sentenced to a prison sentence of two years and nine months, resumption on the state of soldier and unfair dismissal from the military service. March 4, 1949. Italian Prisoners of War in Britain- Everyday Life at An Italian Pow Camp, England, UK, 1945 A general view of men eating in the refectory at the N.144 Italian workers camp near London. According to the original caption 'at the camp there is a single refectory in which the 2000 collaborators eat in two relays. How The Mighty Are Fallen! - A scene in a bunkhouse at Hersfeld PW Camp. Left right, General-Major Erich Fielder, active in German military circles since 1897, making a pair of wooden shoes for himself, General Lieut. Fritz Neidholdt, carning a pair of socks, and General-Major Hans Fritzlaff writing. The last-named served with the staff of Oberkommando No. 9, and since 1943 was Replacement Inspector in Wehrkreis No. 9 Castle. He was an expert on Organization of troops, tactics and replacement of men. The most interesting Prisoner of War Camp under Allied control is that at Hersfeld, Germany, in the American zone, where 278 generals and admirals, the cream of the German Army, Navy and Air Force are now enforced guests.
