STS061-53-010 (4 Dec 1993) --- Astronaut Kenneth D. Bowersox mans the pilot's station on the Space Shuttle Endeavour during the eleven-day mission to service the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). Bowersox was one of three crew members who remained in the crew cabin while astronauts conducted a total of five space walks to perform various tasks on the HST.

The Space Shuttle was designed to carry large payloads into Earth orbit. One of the most important payloads is Spacelab. The Spacelab serves as a small but well-equipped laboratory in space to perform experiments in zero-gravity and make astronomical observations above the Earth's obscuring atmosphere. In this photograph, Payload Specialist, Ulf Merbold, is working at Gradient Heating Facility on the Materials Science Double Rack (MSDR) inside the science module in the Orbiter Columbia's payload bay during STS-9, Spacelab-1 mission. Spacelab-1, the joint ESA (European Space Agency)/NASA mission, was the first operational flight for the Spacelab, and demonstrated new instruments and methods for conducting experiments that are difficult or impossible in ground-based laboratories. STS089-301-037 (22-31 Jan. 1998) --- Astronaut David A. Wolf, recently transferred to the STS-89 crew as mission specialist, works with samples in the Commercial Generic Bioprocessing Assembly (CGBA) onboard the Earth-orbiting space shuttle Endeavour. Wolf had earlier completed a four-month tour of duty on the Russian Space Agency's (RSA) Mir Space Station, as a cosmonaut guest researcher.

STS073-352-008 (20 October - 5 November 1995) --- On the middeck of the Earth-orbiting Space Shuttle Columbia, astronaut Kent V. Rominger, STS-73 pilot, retrieves gear necessary for sampling of the air. In addition to his pilot duties and the performance of tasks in support of the U.S. Microgravity Laboratory (USML-2) mission, Rominger and other crew members pitched in with housekeeping chores as part of their 16-days of Earth-orbit activity.

STS064-05-020 (9-20 Sept. 1994) --- Astronaut Mark C. Lee gets his height measured by astronaut Jerry M. Linenger as part of a daily in-flight routine supporting a medical Detailed Supplementary Objective (DSO). Astronaut Richard N. Richards, STS-64 mission commander, looks on in the background. This study was designed to collect information about back pain and height changes experienced by astronauts during flight. Crew members participating in this DSO are required to record height measurements and long back-pain symptoms daily. As an ongoing program, this DSO will gather data from 30 astronauts who spend more than eight consecutive days in space.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. -- In the Orbiter Processing Facility, STS-99 Mission Specialists Gerhard P.J. Thiele and Janet Lynn Kavandi (Ph.D.) look over part of the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM), primary payload for their mission, as part of a Crew Equipment Interface Test (CEIT). Also taking part in the CEIT are Commander Kevin R. Kregel, Pilot Dominic L. Pudwill Gorie, and Mission Specialists Janice Voss (Ph.D.) and Mamoru Mohri. Mohri is with the National Space Development Agency (NASDA) of Japan, and Thiele is with the European Space Agency. The CEIT provides an opportunity for crew members to check equipment and facilities that will be aboard the orbiter during their mission. The SRTM is a specially modified radar system that will gather data for the most accurate and complete topographic map of the Earth's surface that has ever been assembled. Onboard Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-65) Mission Specialist Leroy Chiao (top) and Mission Specialist Donald A. STS029-04-032 (13-18 March 1989) --- This scene was a common one during the five-day flight of STS-29. Astronaut John E. Blaha, STS-29 pilot, aims the IMAX camera at Earth through one of Discovery's overhead windows. The scene was recorded with a 35mm camera. The photo was part of the first group of onboard photography from this flight released by NASA on Mar. 19, 1989.

Bridges are surrounded by some of the prolific teleprinter copy transmitted from ground controllers to the Earth-orbiting Challenger. Eventually the equivalent of several football fields' length of paper was filled with data from flight controllers.

STS093-319-014 (22-27 July 1999) --- Astronaut Michel Tognini, mission specialist, works with the Commercial Generic Bioprocessing Apparatus (CGBA) on the mid deck of the Space Shuttle Columbia. Tognini represents Frances Centre National dEtudes Spatiales (CNES).

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. - In the Orbiter Processing Facility, STS-114 Mission Specialist Stephen Robinson looks closely at the tiles underneath the orbiter Atlantis. The STS-114 crew is at KSC to take part in crew equipment and orbiter familiarization.

STS080-330-023 (19 Nov.-7 Dec. 1996) --- Astronaut Thomas D. Jones, STS-80 mission specialist, operates the Remote Manipulator System (RMS) controls during operations with the Wake Shield Facility (WSF). When this picture was taken, the part time free-flying WSF was in the grasp of the RMS' end effector, as evidenced by the scene on the space shuttle Columbia's aft flight deck monitor in upper right.

(11-15 Nov. 1982) --- Astronaut Joseph P. Allen IV, STS-5 mission specialist, watches as an orange juice globule floats freely moments after he created the ball using the straw portion (left hand) of his beverage dispenser (right hand) onboard the Earth-orbiting space shuttle Columbia.

STS088-335-015 (4-15 Dec. 1998) --- Astronauts Nancy J. Currie, mission specialist, and Robert D. Cabana, commander, are busy on the flight deck of the Earth-orbiting Space Shuttle Endeavour. Currie is working the controls of the Remote Manipulator System (RMS) arm, while Cabana observes. The crew used the RMS for docking and extravehicular activity (EVA) support during the mission. At missions end, the connected United States-built Unity Module (Node 1) and the Russian-built FGB Module (Zarya) were released in Earth-orbit.

STS081-E-05504 (16 Jan. 1997) --- Astronaut John E. Blaha re-unites with the familiar surroundings of the Space Shuttle Atlantis' aft flight deck, which he has not seen since September 1996, when he went aboard the Russian Mir Space Station complex. After the January 15, 1997 docking of Mir and Atlantis, Blaha assumed the status of a STS-81 mission specialist. Here, he checks small items against a check list. The photograph was recorded with an Electronic Still Camera (ESC) and later was downlinked to flight controllers in Houston, Texas.

STS009-03-093 (28 Nov-8 Dec 1983) --- A mission specialist and two payload specialists busy themselves in the Spacelab 1 module aboard the Earth orbiting Space Shuttle Columbia. Left to right are Payload Specialist Robert A. R. Parker. Parker is partially obscured by a deployed instrument of the fluid physics module at the materials sciences double rack. Merbold, a physicist from Max-Planck Institute in the Federal Republic of Germany, wears a head band-like device and a recorder as part of an overall effort to learn more about space adaptation. STS046-10-003 (8 Aug. 1992) --- Astronaut Andrew M. Allen, STS-46 pilot, positioned in the pilot's station and wearing a partial pressure launch and entry suit, prepares for the final leg of the mission. Allen and six fellow crew members had just shared a busy eight-day stay in Earth-orbit aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis.

STS050-25-024 (25 June-9 July 1992) --- Astronauts Richard N. Richards and Bonnie J. Dunbar, momentarily on leave from the United States Microgravity Laboratory (USML-1) science module, share a meal on the middeck of the Earth-orbiting Space Shuttle Columbia. Richards is mission commander, and Dunbar is payload commander on the record-setting 14-day mission. Near Richards' head is the Astroculture experiment.

STS065-52-034 (8-23 July 1994) --- On the Space Shuttle Columbia's aft flight deck, astronaut James D. Halsel,l Jr., pilot, cleans off one of the overhead windows. Astronaut Carl E. Walz, mission specialist, looks on (photo's edge). The two shared over fourteen days in Earth-orbit with four other NASA astronauts and a Japanese payload specialist in support of the second International Microgravity Laboratory (IML-2) mission.

STS001-06-481 (April 1981) --- Astronaut Robert L. Crippen, STS-1 pilot, is behind his station in the flight deck of Columbia. He has a spoon in his hand. The windows prominent in the scene are the ones through which a number of Earth scenes were photographed with a 70mm camera by the two astronauts. Clouds over water can be seen through them. Just inches away from the top windows, not quite so obvious at top of the frame (if held horizontally) are the two aft cabin windows through which the crew viewed the cargo bay and the aft end of the craft, including the orbital maneuvering system (OMS) pods. STS032-03-021 (9-20 Jan. 1990) --- Three crew members aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia enjoy one of the lighter moments of the 11-day mission on the flight deck. Astronaut G. David Low runs on a treadmill device while astronauts Daniel C. Brandenstein, left, and James D. Wetherbee look on. Wetherbee's mother competed in a marathon in Houston while the crew members had their own in-space version. The treadmill served as an exerciser and also was an important element of onboard biomedical testing. This picture was used by the astronauts at their January 30, 1990 Post Flight Press Conference (PFPC) at the Johnson Space Center (JSC).

STS102-317-008 (821 March 2001) --- Astronaut Andrew S. W. Thomas, STS-102 mission specialist is photographed here in the Leonardo Multi-Purpose Logistics Module (MPLM) which was built by the Italian Space Agency (ASI). The MPLM is the first of three such pressurized modules that will serve as the International Space Stations moving vans, carrying laboratory racks filled with equipment, experiments and supplies to and from the station aboard the space shuttle.

STS004-21-076 (27 June-4 July 1982) --- Astronaut Thomas K. Mattingly II, STS-4 commander, loses his cap amidst a maze of wiring, tape recorder and camera equipment onboard the Earth-orbiting space shuttle Columbia. He stands near the aft control panel on the flight deck of the reusable space vehicle. The 35mm frame was exposed by astronaut Henry W. Hartsfield Jr., STS-4 pilot. The pair spent seven days on NASAs final orbital flight test in the Space Transportation System (STS) program.

STS083-306-002 (4-8 April 1997) --- Payload specialist Gregory T. Linteris, talks to ground controllers while updating progress on an experiment in the Spacelab Science Module. Linteris, along with five other NASA astronauts and a second payload specialist supporting the Microgravity Sciences Laboratory (MSL-1) mission were less than a fourth of the way through a scheduled 16-day flight when a power problem cut short their planned stay.

JSC2002-00794 (12 April 2002) --- Astronaut Pamela A. Melroy, STS-112 pilot, occupies the pilots station during a mission training session in the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility at the Johnson Space Center (JSC). Melroy is attired in a training version of the shuttle launch and entry suit. STS-112 will be the 15th shuttle mission to visit the International Space Station (ISS).

STS079-302-006 (16-26 Sept. 1996) --- Astronauts Jerome (Jay) Apt (right) and Carl E. Walz, both mission specialists, tilt the Active Rack Isolation System (ARIS) hardware which was included on this flight to evaluate conditions and hardware requirements for the International Space Station (ISS). The ARIS is designed to isolate certain experiments from major disturbances that are expected to be found on the ISS, such as vibrations caused by the movement of mechanisms and crew members and the operation of equipment. STS-79 was chosen for the inclusion of the experiment because the Shuttle-Mir complex more closely approximates the acceleration environment of the ISS.

STS004-28-312 (27 June-4 July 1982) --- Astronaut Thomas K. Mattingly II, STS-4 crew commander, prepares a meal in the middeck area of space shuttle Columbia. He uses scissors to open a drink container. Various packages of food and meal accessories are attached to locker doors. At far left edge of the frame is the tall payload called continuous flow electrophoresis experiment (CFES) system-designed to separate biological materials according to their surface electrical charges as they pass through an electrical field. Astronaut Henry W. Hartsfield Jr. exposed this frame with a 35mm camera.

STS065-44-014 (8-23 July 1994) --- Astronaut Robert D. Cabana, mission commander, is seen on the Space Shuttle Columbia's flight deck with the Shuttle Amateur Radio Experiment (SAREX). SAREX was established by NASA, the American Radio League/Amateur Radio Satellite Corporation and the Johnson Space Center (JSC) Amateur Radio Club to encourage public participation in the space program through a project to demonstrate the effectiveness of conducting short-wave radio transmissions between the Shuttle and ground-based radio operators at low-cost ground stations with amateur and digital techniques. As on several previous missions, SAREX was used on this flight as an educational opportunity for students around the world to learn about space firsthand by speaking directly to astronauts aboard the Shuttle.

STS050-301-001 (25 June-9July 1992) --- Astronaut Carl J. STS098-346-0032 (7-20 February 2001) --- Cosmonaut Sergei K. Krikalev, Expedition One flight engineer representing the Russian Aviation and Space Agency, carries the Vozdukh in the Unity node. Vozdukh is designed to maintain the partial pressure of carbon dioxide in the cabin air within the medically permissible range for long-duration exposure. It provides the primary means of removing CO2 from the outpost's atmosphere, and its operation is based on the use of regenerated adsorbers of CO2.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. -- Inside the SPACEHAB in the SPACEHAB Payload Processing Facility (SPPF), STS-95 Mission Specialist Scott Parazynski, M.D., checks out a camera, part of the equipment to fly on the mission scheduled to launch Oct. 29. STS040-30-008 (5-14 June 1991) --- Astronaut Tamara E. Jernigan, after applying a blood pressure cuff to an experiment, watches it in operation. The experiment is the intravenous infusion pump. The device is being considered for use on Space Station Freedom's Health Maintenance Facility. Dr. Jernigan is one of seven crew members supporting the nine-day Spacelab Life Sciences (SLS-1) mission aboard the Earth-orbiting Space Shuttle Columbia.

S86-25188 (December 1985) --- Sharon Christa McAuliffe, a school teacher Concord New Hampshire, surveys a ground training replica of the quarters she ll be using in space when the space shuttle Challenger taxis two women and five men into space in January of 1986. The STS-51L citizen observer/payload specialist is in training at the Johnson Space Center, representing the Teacher-in-Space Project. The photo was taken by Keith Meyers of the New York Times.

STS112-336-035 (12 October 2002) --- Astronaut Pamela A. Melroy, STS-112 pilot, assists astronaut David A. STS035-12-015 (2-11 Dec 1990) --- Astronaut Jeffrey A. Hoffman, STS 35 mission specialist, uses a manual pointing controller (MPC) for the Astro-1 mission's Instrument Pointing System (IPS). By using the MPC, Hoffman and other crewmembers on Columbia's aft flight deck, were able to command the IPS, located in the cargo bay, to record astronomical data. Hoffman is serving the Blue shift which complemented the currently sleeping Red shift of crewmembers as the mission collected scientific data on a 24-hour basis. The TFNG (notice Frederick H. Hauck's T-shirt at left) pays tribute to the 1978 astronaut candidate (ASCAN) class of NASA astronauts. Others in the photograph are Astronauts Norman E. STS078-368-022 (20 June - 7 July 1996) --- Astronauts Susan J. Helms, payload commander, and Terence T. (Tom) Henricks, mission commander, prepare a sample cartridge containing semiconductor crystals for Spacelab research. The crystals were later placed in the Advanced Gradient Heating Furnace (AGHF) in the Life and Microgravity Spacelab (LMS-1) Science Module. The AGHF is designed for directional solidification of the crystals in the sample cartridges. The microgravity of space allows the crystals to grow in a perfect state that can not be accomplished in Earth's gravity.

STS-91 Mission Specialists Franklin Chang-Diaz, Ph.D., and Janet Kavandi, Ph.D., participate in the Crew Equipment Interface Test, or CEIT, inside an airlock in KSC's Orbiter Processing Facility Bay 2. During CEIT, the crew have an opportunity to get a hands-on look at the payloads with which they'll be working on-orbit. The STS-91 crew are scheduled to launch aboard the Shuttle Discovery for the ninth and final docking with the Russian Space Station Mir from KSC's Launch Pad 39A on May 28 at 8:05 EDT

S81-36714 (14 Nov. 1981) --- These two veteran astronauts were named today as the official prime crew members of STS-3 in the space shuttle Columbia. Commander for NASA s third space shuttle orbital flight test is astronaut Jack R. Lousma, left, seated in a Shuttle Mission Simulator (SMS) at NASA's Johnson Space Center (JSC). Astronaut C. Gordon Fullerton, right, will serve as pilot. Lousma was pilot on the second of three NASA crews to visit the Earth orbiting Skylab space station in 1973. Fullerton, though never having been in space, is a veteran of three free flights of the shuttle during approach and landing tests (ALT) with space shuttle Enterprise in 1977.

STS078-429-017 (20 June-7 July 1996) --- Aboard the middeck of the Earth-orbiting space shuttle Columbia, astronaut Charles J. Some of the crew members devoted some of their off-duty time to continue a long-standing Shuttle tradition of communicating with students and other hams between their shifts of assigned duty. Brady joined four other NASA astronauts and two international payload specialists for almost 17-days of research in support of the Life and Microgravity Spacelab (LMS-1) mission.

Gordon Fullerton, crew pilot, busy with mealtime preparations aboard the Earth-orbiting Columbia. The astronaut has positioned himself in the corner of the middeck area. Fullerton holds a beverage in his right hand in an accordion-like squeeze dispenser. Many packages of pre-packaged dehydrated foods and other meal items can be seen in the photo. Many are fastened to the locker doors and to trays in the locker doors by velcro. Reminiscent of STS-2 days, a portrait of George W. S. Abbey, director of flight operations at JSC, is at left edge.

S85-42473 (16 Oct. 1985) --- Sharon Christa McAuliffe, a teacher-citizen observer on STS-51L, smiles before participating in some zero-G rehearsals for her upcoming flight. She is seated near the controls of the KC-135 aircraft, flying for the Johnson Space Center from Ellington Air Field. Referred to as the zero-gravity aircraft, the KC-135 provides brief moments of weightlessness for shuttle crew members in training.

STS-102 Commander James D. Wetherbee watches as Mission Specialist Paul W. Richards handles some of the equipment inside the tool caddy that is carried on launches. STS059-13-030 (9-20 April 1994) --- From the Space Shuttle Endeavour's aft flight deck, astronauts Kevin P. Chilton, pilot, and Linda M. Godwin, payload commander, monitor and photograph clouds on Earth. The two, along with four other NASA astronauts spent a week and a half aboard Endeavour in support of the Space Radar Laboratory (SRL-1)/STS-59 mission.

The rookie” on the STS-92 mission, Pilot Pamela Ann Melroy has her new launch and entry suit adjusted during pre-pack and fit check in the Operations and Checkout Building. Melroy and the rest of the crew are at KSC for Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test activities. The TCDT provides emergency egress training, simulated countdown exercises and opportunities to inspect the mission payload. STS-92 is scheduled to launch Oct. 5 at 9:38 p.m. EDT from Launch Pad 39A on the fifth flight to the International Space Station. STS079-309-022 (16-26 Sept. 1996) --- Astronaut Thomas D. Akers, in the Spacehab, goes over an inventory of supplies which will be transferred to the Russia's Mir Space Station. This photograph is one of fifteen 35mm frames (along with four 70mm frames) of still photography documenting the activities of NASA's STS-79 mission, which began with a September 16, 1996, liftoff from Launch Pad 39A the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) and ended with a landing at KSC on September 26, 1996. Onboard for the launch were astronauts William F. Readdy, commander; Terrence W. Wilcutt, pilot; John E. Blaha, Jerome (Jay) Apt, Akers and Carl E. Walz, all mission specialists. On flight day 4, the crew docked with the Mir Space Station. Shannon W. Lucid, who had spent six months aboard Mir, switched cosmonaut guest researcher roles with Blaha. The latter joined fellow Mir-22 crew members Valeri G. Korzun, commander, and Aleksandr Y. Kaleri, flight engineer.

STS073-101-018 (20 October-5 November 1995) --- Payload specialist Fred W. Leslie maneuvers his body to a position conducive to research at the Crystal Growth Furnace (CGF) aboard the science module in the cargo bay of the Earth-orbiting Space Shuttle Columbia. Crystallization has been discovered to be more effectively studied in the weightless environment of space than on Earth, because the gravity-induced phenomena that obscure or change the process or change the process are greatly reduced or eliminated. Leslie was joined by a second guest researcher and five NASA astronauts for 16 full days of in-space research in support of the United States Microgravity Laboratory (USML-2) mission.

STS003-22-122 (30 March 1982) --- STS-3 Commander Lousma, wearing communications kit assembly (ASSY) mini-headset (HDST), records Plant Growth Unit (PGU) data for the Influence of Weightlessness on Plant Lignification Experiment at forward middeck locker MF14K. The experiment is designed to demonstrate the effect of weightlessness on the quantity and rate of lignin formation in different plant species during early stages of development. STS106-390-029 (8-20 September 2000) --- Astronauts Scott D. Altman (left), STS-106 pilot, Daniel C. Burbank, and Edward T. Lu, both mission specialists, along with cosmonaut Boris V. Morukov, mission specialist representing Rosaviakosmos, assemble a treadmill in the Zvezda Service Module on the International Space Station (ISS).

STS047-35-022 (12 - 20 Sept 1992) --- Astronauts Curtis L. Brown, Jr., pilot, and N. Jan Davis, mission specialist, team up to cure a high humidity problem in the hornet experiment in the Spacelab-J Science Module of the Earth-orbiting Space Shuttle Endeavour. Via a jury-rigged hose hook-up, the two were able to blow air from a spacesuit fan into the experiment, thus eliminating condensation that obscured the viewing of the Israeli hornet experiment. The experiment examined the effects of microgravity on the orientation, reproductive capability and social activity of 180 female Oriental Hornets.

STS071-122-021 (27 June-7 July 1995) --- Three astronauts and a cosmonaut who went into space aboard the space shuttle Atlantis check out the core module living quarters on Russia's Mir Space Station. Sporting a new Houston Rockets T-shirt near frame center is cosmonaut Anatoly Y. Solovyev, Mir-19 mission commander. Astronaut Bonnie J. Dunbar, STS-71 mission specialist, floats into the frame at lower left. Beyond Solovyev are astronauts Ellen S. Baker and Gregory J. Harbaugh, mission specialists.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. -- STS-103 Pilot Scott J. Kelly, in his orange launch and entry suit, waits for assistance from closeout crew members in the White Room before entering the orbiter. Seen at left is United Space Alliance Mechanical Technician Rene Arriens. The White Room is an environmental chamber at the end of the orbiter access arm on the fixed service structure. It provides entry to the orbiter crew compartment. The mission, to service the Hubble Space Telescope, is scheduled to lift off at 7:50 p.m. EST Dec. 19 on mission STS-103, servicing the Hubble Space Telescope. Objectives for the nearly eight-day mission include replacing gyroscopes and an old computer, installing another solid state recorder, and replacing damaged insulation in the telescope. Discovery is expected to land at KSC Monday, Dec. 27, at about 5:24 p.m. EST

Apollo 17 Mission Commander Eugene A Cernan, a Navy Captain, and Lunar Module Pilot Dr. Harrison H. Schmitt, civilian scientist-astronaut, at right, familiarize themselves with equipment used in the Lunar Module in which they will descend to the lunar surface during December. Cernan and Dr. Schmitt are undergoing pre-launch training in the lunar Module Simulator at the Flight Crew Training Building at the Space Center. Navy Commander Ronald E. Evans, Command Module Pilot, will accompany Cernan and Schmitt on the mission.

On Russia's Mir Space Station Base Block Module, astronaut Jerry M. Linenger, is pictured soon after assuming duties as cosmonaut guest researcher. This was the first donning of his space suit for Mir-22 duties. Linenger replaced astronaut John E. Blaha in the Mir support role. He will be replaced by astronaut C. Michael Foale when the Atlantis re-docks with Mir in May of this year. .

STS036-03-027 (3 March 1990) --- STS-36 Pilot John H. Casper reaches for the shuttle portable onboard computer (SPOC), a laptop computer, while at the pilots station on the forward flight deck of Atlantis, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 104. Casper, seated in the pilots seat, lifts the SPOC from the forward window ledge. Appearing around him are forward crew compartment windows, the head up display (HUD), the flight mirror assembly, and a checklist attached to control panel O3. Casper and four other astronauts spent four days, 10 hours and 19 minutes aboard the spacecraft for a Department of Defense (DOD) devoted mission.

JSC2000-02936 (5 April 2000) --- John Hazelhurst, a suit technician for the United Space Alliance, assists astronaut Daniel C. Burbank with final touches on his suit-donning exercise as the STS-106 mission specialist prepares to participate in emergency egress training. Similar training is afforded each shuttle crew in the Johnson Space Center's Systems Integration Facility. Burbank will join four other NASA astronauts and two cosmonauts representing the Russian Aviation and Space Agency for a late summer visit to the International Space Station.

STS070-334-031 (13-22 JULY 1995) --- Astronaut Kevin R. Kregel demonstrates the new shuttle sleep restraints on the space shuttle Discoverys middeck. During an August 11, 1995, post flight presentation to fellow employees at the Johnson Space Center (JSC), the STS-70 pilot discussed features of the device and lauded its ability to add comfort for crew members.
