Dress of squares and rectangles alternating from linen and edge embroidery with penetration. Dress of squares and rectangles alternating from linen and edge embroidery: fillet side. In the middle of the rug there are two square pieces of filet side with a pattern of a vase with a symmetrical bouquet of grape fees and vines and with a border of flowers and leaves. The other elongated or square pieces of lace have a pattern with different flower and leaf motifs. The motifs are embroidered in the cross-linking technique on a knotted network with square meshes.

Fragment (Japan); silk, metallic

. Scarf of cream colored wool, embroidered with a floral motif in multicolored wool. Square. Middle pattern: a picture frame of palm motifs and flower refrences shows palm trees in three species with a limited indoor drawing. There are two downtown and progressed and one palm behind over. Detachment of this is always a large palm or feather in the corners with halfway nodding top; Inside decor shows smaller "mother" palms with "children's" palms on shot, jumping out of the band. In the center an eight-pointed star pattern, concentrically multiplied, o.a. one with a lied contour; There are extremely fine spring motifs. In the middle of the ides a palm with a cypress shape changed to cypres form. Edge cartridge: separately woven double length lists with rank and rosette pattern and wound single transverse lists; All with overlayed flower clards. Technique: Steelsteek.

Handkerchief with a rim of needle side with corner rocailles, anonymous, c. 1840 - c. 1860 Handkerchief with a border of natural -colored needle side: Brussels mesh side. There is a lace edge with corner rocailles, filled with open grid work, a lace rim with an open grid. Indoor and outdoor contours are composed of fine C-volutes, ovals, circles and acanthus leaves. On the Mazennet there are several nice tufts of roses, lilacs, rose buttons and forget mineites. A more closed edge shows roses, scaly edges, fan palms with godron edge and rocailles with grid filling. Handkerchief ca. 1820 Catherine Hubert An accomplished young woman of the early 19th century was expected to master many types of needlework. This handerchief, made by Miss Catherine Hubert (1799-1898) when she was about 20 years old, presents intricate embroidery, drawn work and cut work as well as handmade lace. Batists handkerchief with embroidery and a strip of machine side, anonymous, c. 1840 - c. 1850 Natural -colored batist handkerchief with an intermediate creature of a machine side on two sides: Machine tuldoor stop work on machine tulle. The handkerchief is trimmed all around with a narrow edge machine side. In the corner along the intermediate sinks, the handkerchief is decorated with (machine) Embroidery - Whitework with Plumetis - and with inserts from Tulle in open worked parts. The embroidery pattern in the corner is symmetrical and consists of two openwork leaves that form a V and between which some skewers rise up. At the top each open -up leaf rises a branch with three openwork rosette flowers and plumes. Headscarf 1814 Russian This object is from the collection of Natalia de Shabelsky (1841-1905), a Russian noblewoman compelled to preserve what she perceived as the vanishing folk art traditions of her native country. Traveling extensively throughout Great Russia, she collected many fine examples of textile art of the wealthy peasant class. From the 1870s until moving to France in 1902, Shabelsky amassed a large collection of intricately embroidered hand-woven household textiles and opulent festival garments with rich decoration and elaborate motifs. The Brooklyn Museum holdings include many fine examples including the majority of the garments. Portions of Shabelsky's collection are also housed at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Cleveland Art Museum, and the Russian Museum of Ethnography in St. Petersburg.. Headscarf 157569

Chef De Piece (France); Company: Torcat & Long; linen warp, cotton weft; Warp: 54 cm (21 1/4 in.). Weft: 80 cm (31 1/2 in.) Both selvedges present. Piece seamed together horizontally near the bottom. Pattern: Sophisticated concept for this period of block printing in northern France: the design does not repeat across the width of the fabric but if lengths of fabric were sewn together correctly they would form a half-drop repeat. Height of repeat not present.

Handkerchief of climbing side with seed beads. Handkerchief of linen batist with an edge natural colosside: Lille side. Square model with rounded linen batist cloth in the center. The side has a symmetrical pattern of coral-shaped twigs that form seed beads or cartouches with different grounds including tulet, rose ground and in the middle of the sides a grid work filling of small motifs in linen bat in a rose ground.

Lace of lace pledger with peacocks, anonymous, c. 1925 - c. 1934 Lap of natural -colored lace -up work, work with pulled threads and tracing. In the corner of a linen piece, work with pulled threads has made an L-shape of traly-round on which extension work has been applied. In the corner of the L is a vase or flowerpot with an upright rosette flower and two smaller hanging rosette flowers. This motif is caught between two peacocks desired to the corner with crests and showers. The piece is finished on two sides around the pattern with a hem. The other two sides are not finished. The piece seems to be cut from a larger square or a larger rectangle. Russia linen (material).
