German-born photographer and scholar Max Hutzel (1911-1988) photographed in Italy from the early 1960s until his death. The result of this project, referred to by Hutzel as Foto Arte Minore, is thorough documentation of art historical development in Italy up to the 18th century, including objects of the Etruscans and the Romans, as well as early Medieval, Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque monuments. In landscape with arched gateway & buildings (L), trees & plants, a group of men & women with children gathered around a sun dial & flanked by cattle grazing; arched bridge in distance (R) (BRD) pole with garland spiral This tapestry is often seen as the left half of a larger composition, including a lady on a swing flanked by 2 men. It can be further extended to the right with the inclusion of a woman with children & animals. The tapestry was very likely reduced in width, probably from a width of 9'3" to 7'6". French & Co. may have wanted to fashion dimensions for a tapestry that would bring it in line with other panels of the same set, like GCPA:
