The edges are decorated at the front and rear with leaf motifs in gold pressure. Switchers of Changeant paper. The album contains 25 thick cardboard sheets with gold on cut. Each page has a passe-partout framed with gold-colored lines. A total of 50 Cartes-de Visite of various photographers. Date: 18th century.Both Chinese and Japanese poetry contain allusions to the delicate beauty of plum blossoms in the moonlight and their subtle fragrance. This literary allusion underlies the imagery on this box and is particularly appropriate to its function as a container for an ink stone and brushes.
