German-born photographer and scholar Max Hutzel (1911-1988) photographed in Italy from the early 1960s until his death. The result of this project, referred to by Hutzel as Foto Arte Minore, is thorough documentation of art historical development in Italy up to the 18th century, including objects of the Etruscans and the Romans, as well as early Medieval, Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque monuments. Images are organized by geographic region in Italy, then by province, city, site complex and monument.

Ter herinnering aan mijn diensttijd overzee.Photo album with 12 sheets with intermediate sheets of satin paper and 120 photos about the service time of a Dutch soldier in the Dutch East Indies in the years 1948-1949. The album was probably awarded to the soldiers by the Welfare Care Service. The decorated front is reminiscent of the batik technique. In the middle a representation of a wajangpop, around it geometric figures with a kind of garland the text: in memory of my overseas service. On the inside of the cafe there is a small portrait photo, probably the - unknown - owner of the album at a later age. There are no war deals on the photos, but patrols, the daily life of the soldier and the interaction with the locals. On many photos, something is written on the back and a date, between July 1948 and May 1949.

Between the end of the First World War in 1918 and the outbreak of the Pacific War in 1941, Japanese graphic design as represented in advertsing posters, magazine covers and book covers underwent a series of changes characterised by increasing Western influence, a growing middle class, industrialisation and militarisation, as well as (initially) left wing political ideals and (subsequently) right wing nationalism and the influence of European Fascist art forms.
