Charles Augustus Lindbergh (February 4, 1902 - August 26, 1974) was an American aviator, military officer, author, inventor, and activist. At the age of 25, he went from obscurity as a U.S. Air Mail pilot to instantaneous world fame by winning the Orteig Prize for making the first nonstop flight from New York City to Paris on May 20-21, 1927

"Just Another Flight" - Man Flies Atlantic In Baby Plane.Wen he landed his tiny, single-engine monoplane at Renfrew, near Glasgow, 27-year-old Peter Gluckman said "to me it was entirely uneventful - just another flight".He had just flown the Atlantic in one of the smallest planes ever to achieve this feat.Born in Germany, Gluckman had a watch-makers business in San Francisco. Business was not good; so he took a job at an aircraft works as well, working at night, and became interested in flying.His father, living in Britain, became very ill and Peter decided to make the Atlantic crossing as soon as possible. 'Flying Saucer' Is A Reality -- From the world of fantasy comes this 'Flying Sacer' and the bizarre hat worn by 19-year-old Arthur Sanger, dental mechanic of Southampton. The flying model ' saucer ' is the latest of 200 miniature planes build by Arthur. It took him three months to build, is powered by a Jeter rocket motor, and files for thirty seconds at heights up to 100 feet.The ' Saucer ' has four radders and the engine is mounted at the leading edge.Arthur, a member of the Southampton Model Aeroplane Club, already has plans for a bigger and boozer flying ' saucer '.He has carried out a number of experiments with his latest model, and has achieved flights of a minute. Brother Berger, aircrane designer.Arpeplayer Bror Berger built a single monoplan with ideas from French and German role models in 1911. The body and driver's place was made of wooden spill. Steering wheel and controls made from English Dower and with a 50 hp engine, a French rope. The planet wrecked during the first test flight due to. that the wing construction was incorrect. The parts of the plane are preserved at the Technical Museum. Berger built the plane using money from manufacturer and bakery owner Paul Drewes and the Billar Master Kristian Svensson at Blanchs Café. It was 9.60 meters long and 2 meters wide. The wings were dressed with balong fabric impregnated with oil paint and rubber. It was controlled with pedals that affected the rudder. Propeller of box and walnut.
