Beiyang warlord government was one of the warlord forces of the Republic of China, composed of the main generals of the New Beiyang Army after Yuan Shikai took power. This happened during the May Fourth Movement. The May Fourth Movement was a Chinese anti-imperialist, cultural, and political movement that grew out of student protests in Beijing on May 4, 1919.
